Kanata is a major suburb of Ottawa Ontario. It is approximately a 25 minute drive from the city’s downtown core. As of 2016 the population was 90,806 and it is rapidly growing. Kanata is located west of the Greenbelt offering beautiful trails open throughout the year.
Are you looking for a quite retreat while still being close to Ottawa’s downtown core? Then Kanata is the place for you. Enjoy this peaceful suburb while being minutes from shops, restaurants and schools. You will primarily find single family homes in Kanata as well as townhomes and bungalows.
This quiet suburb is perfect for families as there schools around every corner (check out my Kanata school list at the bottom of the page). There are plenty of parks and recreation centres, and for the hockey and music fans the Canadian Tire Center is a short drive away! Kanata is also home of the Tanger Outlet Mall which is a major shopping complex with hundreds of outlet stores. Kanata is known for its high-tech business park, as well as its close proximity to the National Defence Headquarters (NDHQ) on Moodie Drive.
