Here is a list of things you can’t miss!

As someone that has grown up in Ottawa I have had years to experience all it has to offer. If you are new to the city it can be hard to find unique things to do. Here is my list of things I love to do now, and what I loved to do growing up!

I hope this list helps you discover what Ottawa has to offer. There is so much to explore in the city and I hope you take the time to enjoy it!

Spend the day at Calypso

Calypso is Canada’s largest water park. Bring the whole family and enjoy 35 slides and 2 themed lazy rivers! Pro tip – purchase your passes at Costco to save!

Hike at Gatineau Park

Gatineau park offers some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Canada. Pink lake is a short 2km hike that is easy enough for the whole family.

Major’s Hill Park

Major’s Hill park is beautiful to visit any time of the year. Tulip season however, shouldn’t be missed.

Bluesfest

For two weeks in July Bluesfest takes over Lebreton Flats in Ottawa. Enjoy live music, delicious food and beer and lemonade at every corner!

Join a sports league – OSCC

Looking to join a team? The Ottawa Sports and Social Club is a great platform to join a sports team as an individual or with a team! I personally play volleyball all year long!

Visit a Winery

Looking to try local Ottawa wine? You have to check out the award wining Jabulani winery! Try my favourite wine – “Grigio Girls”

Saunders Farm

A must see for all Halloween lovers! During “haunting season” Saunders farm offers a haunted hayride, multiple haunted houses, as well as delicious food! Saunders farm is open year round and is a fun destination for the summertime as well!

Casino Lac Lemy

Just 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa the Casino Lac Lemy offers many tables and slots as well as a great restaurant selection.

Winterlude

Check out Ottawa’s annual winter festival. Not only can you see amazing ice sculptures but you can have fun on the ice slides (my favourite)!

Tavern on the Falls

Tavern on the Falls overlooks the Rideau River and the Twin Waterfalls. Enjoy food and drinks with an amazing view of Ottawa!
